Kenya Inflation Holds Steady, Seen Easing With Rains
Kenya’s annual inflation rate remained unchanged in October, with expectations that it will ease in the coming months as the rainy season begins and food prices decline.
According to a statement from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, consumer prices rose 4.6% year on year in October, the same pace recorded in September, indicating relative stability in overall inflation.
Meanwhile, core inflation — the central bank’s preferred measure of underlying price pressures — slowed to 2.7%, down from 2.9% in the previous month, signaling a gradual easing of fundamental inflationary pressures in the economy.
